  • Hi all

I am going to be a new Shelly customer and I would like to know if the Shelly 1 has the feature of setting a delay of the output when the input has been triggered. I need something like 2 minutes delay if possible.

    thank you

  • Hi Flowy , welcome to the forum. :)

A delay directly on the switch, there are, to my knowledge, unfortunately not.

But it would be possible via the cloud with scenes or via http commands.

    Have fun here. ;)

  • Hi 66er, I have the same question.

I study all the http command but I don't find the possibility to delay the relay.

I found only a timer to return on a previous status after n seconds.

Can you show me the http command to delay the output?

    Many thanks

    lcarado

  • Hi lcarado , welcome to the forum. :)

You have to use a little trick:

If the output is to be switched on with a delay, you send the command to switch off with a timer. It looks like this, for example:

    Code
    http://192.168.xxx.xxx/relay/0?turn=off&timer=ttt

    Good luck.

  • You're welcome.

  • Hi, I'm new to the forum.

I also need to delay a relay on and looking for help.

I tried using URL action with switch ON event but it doesn't work. Or rather, it doesn't work if I use it on the affected device, while if I use the same command with another device it works.

All relays are set with static IP.

Examples witch relays "X" and "Y":

    1) if I turn on the button (set with momentary or toggle switch or detached) the connected "X" relay, set with URL "http: //192.168.1.Y/relay/0?turn=off&timer=10", the correct is activated relay "Y" output after 10 seconds;

    2) if I turn on the button (set with momentary or toggle switch or detached) the connected "X" relay, set with URL "http: //192.168.1.X/relay/0?turn=off&timer=10" does not activate the output of relay "X" (himself).

    And viceversa.

Is this behavior normal? It seems strange.
It doesn't even work if I delete the timer option for a normal power on ("http: //192.168.1.X/relay/0?turn=on"). Do I have to use a different address to refer to the same device where I set the URL action?
All commands works good launch in browser.
    I tried with a Shelly 1 and Shelly 2.5.

But wouldn't it be a good thing if they implemented an activation and deactivation delay directly in the timer section?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

I had already tried with 127.0.0.1 but it made no difference. Even with localhost it is the same.

In any case it should also work with the correct IP.

    Maybe it's something else.

  • Hi SebMai,

I have read your new answer now.

In the meantime, I discovered (as you rightly say) that a reboot was required to function (in this situation, but not ever). In any case, the device can only resolve localhost but not 127.0.0.1 or its own IP.

    Thanks for your help. :-)

  • Since I have made other tests in the meantime, if it can be useful to someone else, I would like to point out that to refer to the second block of a Shelly 2.5 relay, the following addresses must be used:

    Code
    http://192.168.1.X/1?turn=off&timer=xx
    http://localhost/1?turn=off&timer=xx

We therefore refer with 0 to the first part of the module and with 1 to the second, since the two parts have the same IP / MAC address. Otherwise unexpected results can occur.

    Bye! :-)
