Controlling ceiling light

  • Hello everyone,

I'll preface this by saying that I'm a 100% newbie when it comes to home automation, so I apologize in advance.

I have a ceiling light that is controlled via remote and wall switch.

I would like to connect it via SHELLY 2.5, so that I can have the same functions as the remote control via alexa as well.

    The lamp in question:

    And the remote:

Thank you all in advice :-)

  • Sorry, but you can't do this, the controller is the big white in the middle.

And when I read it correct, you haven't any chance to change it.

    Hi,

    aw shame . . . :-|

But is not possible atleast power it on and off through alexa? Can't the Shelly be used as a "passthrough" ?

And wouldn't be possible to use the Shelly RGBW2 as a controller instead of the built in ? (the white box)

  • Maybe try posting a sharper pic of the lamp details so we can see if maybe the controls of your lamp can indeed be replaced with an RGBW2 after all - but that would most likely have to be done by someone with electric experience, if it’s possible at all.

    Best,

    Georg
